Jeta Statovci was born in Pristina, Kosovo. She completed her Master’s studies at the London School of Economics (LSE) in the United Kingdom, with a focus on Health Economics. Previously, she completed her Bachelor studies at Rochester Institute of Technology (RIT Kosovo) in the field of Economics and Management.
Ms. Statovci is a member of the parliament of the Republic of Kosovo. Currently, she holds two important positions within the parliamentary commissions, through which legislative and supervisory functions are exercised. Ms. Statovci is the vice-chairman of the Committee for Economy, Industry, Entrepreneurship and Trade and a member of the Committee for Budgets and Transfers. In addition, she participated in the Investigative Commission for the Management of the Energy Crisis and the Parliamentary Commission for the Stabilization-Association Agreement in the European Parliament.
Lately, she has been chosen by the World Bank and the IMF to represent the region of Europe and Central Asia, among only eight young deputies from around the world, to dialogue about development issues, through the global initiative of young deputies (2023-2025 Global Young MP Initiative).
Previously, Mrs. Statovci has been in the position of advisor for social and health policies to the Speaker of the Assembly of Kosovo, who is currently the President of the Republic of Kosovo, Vjosa Osmani. During her time there, Jeta has had an active participation in proposing steps for the fight against COVID-19 and was part of the team for the drafting of the law against COVID-19. She has experience as a consultant and health management consultant for several institutions.
During her time in parliament, she has paid close attention to economic developments in the country, in relation to the labor market – with a focus on women and youth, the energy sector and enterprises.
