Panel 8: “Access to Finance”

 

Astrit Panxha is an economist with many years of experience. He is the founder of “Kosova Business Forum 2024”, an initiative to promote transparent public-private dialogue. Since 2015, Astrit is the Executive Director and one of the founders of the Kosovo Producers Club – KPK. Also, he is the author of the weekly tv programme “7 days with Panxhën” that deals with various topics about the economy.

 

Before the creation of the KPK, he worked as a senior economist in the Department of Financial Stability and Economic Analysis in the Central Bank of the Republic of Kosovo. Astrit joined the FSEA Department in 2009 as an economic researcher (until 2013), where he worked in performance and risk assessment of the financial sector in general and the banking sector in particular. In addition to the Central Bank, Astriti has international experience in the financial sector from different cities such as Vienna,Berlin and London.

 

In 2010 he was awarded the Letter of Excellence for his outstanding work in Applied Economic Policy Training at the Vienna Joint Institute. He also attended professional courses at the Federal Bank of New York, the European Central Bank, the Central Bank of Austria, the IMF Institute, the World Bank and worked for a period at the German Federal Ministry of Finance in Berlin.

 

Astrit has taught at Riinvest Institute in subjects such as Financial Management, Corporate Finance and Microeconomics. During his career he has published academic papers and his personal research has focused on the effects of banks in the real economy and on risk management in the banking sector and capital structure. Astrit holds an MSc in Corporate Finance from Lund University and BA in Economics from London Metropolitan University.
